Architectural Competition "A Square For People"

J. Basanavičius Square in Marijampolė

Marijampolė's central square has been redesigned many times. The last few attempts have completely cleaned and cleared up the square, but as a result the space has lost its primary function. It is no longer a place where city residents relax and mingle. The competition's participants, professional Lithuanian architects, approaching the problem critically and with an eye to the area's history, will present their ideas for "humanizing" the central square. The square must be lively and active not just during holidays, but every day, all year round.
